Privacy in the SudoSuite app
This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the binding one.
The short version: SudoSuite does not want to know anything about you. No account, no sign-up, no email address. Open the app and play.
We collect no data about you. Whatever the app remembers stays on your device.
1. Who is behind it
Responsible for SudoSuite and for this statement:
Owner: Anton Rieger
Archstr. 3b
82467 Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
Phone: +49 8821 8229369
E-mail: info@riegnet.de
Controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR.
2. What there isn't
- No user account, no registration
- No usage tracking: no clicks, no playing time, no analysis
- No crash reports to us
- No location, no contacts, no microphone
- No online leaderboard
- No sharing with third parties
3. Everything stays on your device
Stored in the app data on your phone:
- Settings and language
- Saved games and puzzles in progress
- Statistics and high scores with the name you type in yourself
- Your progress in SudoLearn
- The puzzle stock and the counters
You can delete all of it yourself at any time: in the app via “Reset everything”, or in Android under Apps → SudoSuite → Storage → Clear data. Uninstalling removes it as well.
4. The settings file
At most every twelve hours, the app downloads a small settings file from our server. It makes sure the app works correctly when something changes, without you having to install an update.
What gets transmitted is what every request on the internet brings along: IP address, time, and a few technical details about device and app version. No identifier, no saved game.
We run the server ourselves. The IP address has to be logged for technical reasons; it is not kept for longer than five days. Nothing is analysed and nothing is passed on.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in stable operation (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
5. The camera
Only for the QR scan in SudoSolver, and only if you use it. You can also type the code in by hand.
Reading happens directly on the device. No photo is taken, nothing is stored, and your camera image never leaves the phone.
6. Printing and sharing
A Sudoku booklet only goes where you send it: printer, mail, messenger, file storage. That is your decision, not the app's.
7. Your rights
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR.
In practice: your data is on your device and you delete it yourself. For the server logs in section 4, an e-mail to info@riegnet.de is enough.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
8. Status
If the app changes, we change this text. What is written here applies.

Google Play and Google services
The app is distributed through the Google Play Store and uses Google services in three places (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes the resulting data as its own controller and explains it in its privacy policy. We receive no personal data from it.
Ads in the menus
Ads are served through Google AdMob — in menus and when you choose to unlock something, never while you are solving a puzzle. Google uses your device's advertising ID for this and obtains the required consent from you itself; you can change or withdraw it in the app settings under “Ad consent”. With Pro, ads are gone entirely.
Buying the Pro version
Payment runs directly through Google Play billing. Your payment details stay with Google and we never get to see them — all that reaches us is that Pro has been unlocked.
Reading the QR code
The scanner in SudoSolver uses Google ML Kit, which performs recognition on the device. Your camera image is not transmitted; the SDK only reports technical metrics about its own operation to Google, such as latencies and errors.
